For heat press work, lay a sheet under the garment and another over the transfer; it protects the platen and stops ink migration, and hot vinyl won't stick to it. Resin workers use it as a demolding layer, since finished pieces slide off without picking up texture from the bench. In the kitchen it lines sheet pans and cooling racks for cookies, candy, and tempering. Cut it with scissors or a rotary cutter, wipe it clean with water or a soft brush, and store it flat or loosely rolled. It doesn't absorb oils and it doesn't off-gas at craft or kitchen temperatures.

Between the two thicknesses, both release identically; the thinner option is lighter and easier to cut into detailed shapes, the thicker one adds cushioning under a press.
