Platinum-cured is the cleaner curing chemistry. Most retail silicone pads are peroxide-cured. The difference shows up the third time you use one in the oven, when the peroxide pad starts smelling and the platinum pad does not.

Common questions
Why does platinum vs. peroxide matter?
Platinum-cured silicone does not off-gas at temperature. Peroxide-cured silicone can release residual peroxide compounds when heated repeatedly. If you are using a pad in a kitchen oven or near food, you want platinum.
Will it stain?
Pigments can leave marks (especially turmeric, beet, dyes). Most rinse off. Stubborn stains lift with a baking soda paste. The silicone itself does not degrade.
Can I cut it to size?
Yes. Sharp scissors or a craft knife cut clean. The edges do not fray.
Will it melt under a heat press?
No, not at standard HTV or sublimation temperatures. The rated range covers everything a normal heat press does.
